Town of Cobourg Announces Winners of Youth Election Sticker Contest
Cobourg, ON (October 9, 2026) – The Town of Cobourg Legislative Services Division is pleased to announce the winners of Cobourg’s youth “I Voted” Sticker Contest for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.
Congratulations to Sticker Contest winners Desi and Walter, who came out on top in their respective age categories.
Voting in the Town of Cobourg will take place online, offering a secure and convenient way to vote anytime, anywhere during the voting period. Printed stickers will be available at the Town’s Voter Help Centres, or residents may pick one up from the Clerk’s Office at Victoria Hall (55 King Street West) after casting their internet ballot.

The Town of Cobourg would like to thank the youth who entered the contest. Community members are invited to view all the submitted artwork in an exhibition in the Art Gallery of Northumberland located at Victoria Hall, West Wing, Third Floor, from now until Voting Day – Monday, October 26.

“My Ideal Town” Essay Contest
The Town is also encouraging youth to share their ideas for the future through the “My Ideal Town” essay contest.
This contest invites students 17 years old and younger to submit a creative 350-word essay describing their vision for an ideal town. Youth are encouraged to imagine what programs, services, and community features they would like to see in the future.
Essay contest submissions are due by October 26, 2026, at 8 p.m., and must include:
- Full name of the youth submitting the essay.
- Age and/or grade.
- Parent or guardian’s name.
- Parent or guardian’s email address or phone number.
Essays may be submitted by email to cobourgvotes@cobourg.ca or by mail to the Office of the Municipal Clerk, 55 King Street West, Cobourg, ON, K9A 2M2.
After the submission deadline, Town staff will compile all entries and present them to Cobourg’s newly elected Council for the 2026–2030 term. One youth will be selected to read their essay at the inaugural meeting of Council and share their vision for an ideal town with Council and the community. All youth who submit an essay will be invited to attend the inaugural Council meeting, meet Council, and stay for the reception that follows.
Voter Help Centres
The Town’s Clerk’s team will be managing the Voter Help Centres, to provide a safe and secure way for community members to cast their vote at a secure voting kiosk.
If a voter needs assistance, they may contact the Town directly or use one of our three Voter Help Centres across Town during the Voting Period, which runs from October 16 at 9 a.m. to October 26 at 8 p.m.
