Apply to Join the Joint Compliance Audit Committee
The Town of Cobourg is seeking seven members for the Joint Compliance Audit Committee (JCAC). The JCAC is responsible for considering applications from eligible electors that believe, on reasonable grounds, that a candidate or third party has contravened the campaign finance rules in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. The Town of Cobourg Municipal Clerk Brent Larmer invites community members to attend extended office hours during the first week of June, to answer any election questions and to offer additional nomination filing appointments.
The nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election is now open. Nominations can be filed from May 1, 2026 to August 21, 2026 at 2 p.m. (Nomination Day).
Notice is hereby given to the municipal electors of the Town of Cobourg that they may file their Nomination Paper for the 2026 Municipal Election with the Office of the Town Clerk by booking a Nomination meeting. Meetings are being held at the Municipal Clerk’s Office located at Victoria Hall, 55 King Street West in Cobourg, beginning on Friday, May 1 at 8:30 a.m. until Friday, August 21 at 2 p.m.
The Town of Cobourg is inviting residents interested in running in the 2026 Municipal Election, or registering as a third party advertiser, to attend an upcoming Candidate Information Session.
