The Town of Cobourg will host a Candidate Information Night for individuals who intend to file a nomination and run in the 2026 Municipal Election, or who intend to register as a third party advertiser. Additionally, there will be Candidate information Session #2 which will be held at the Northumberland County Headquarters, where following a presentation, there will be all lower-tier clerks available to answer specific candidate questions. The County Clerk will also be available to provide County Council specific information.
These sessions will provide practical information about the election process and the rules and obligations for candidates and third party advertisers, including nomination and registration, campaign rules, campaign finances, and compliance. Both Sessions will presented with the support of Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
